Monroe County ARES/RACES
Monroe County ARES/RACES is a group of licensed Amateur Radio operators who volunteer their time, equipment, and expertise to provide emergency communications support to Monroe County, NY and the surrounding area.
Who we are
We are part of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service network, providing critical communication capability during emergencies and disasters when normal communication systems fail or become overloaded. Our members come from all walks of life, united by a commitment to public service and amateur radio.
What we do
- Emergency communications backup during disasters and emergencies
- Public service support for community events, marathons, and gatherings
- Regular training and operations to maintain readiness
- Community outreach and education about amateur radio
We meet on the fourth Thursday of each month except during July, August, and December. To become a member, register an account above — new registrations are reviewed by an EmComm admin before approval — or email secretary@monroecountyemcomm.org.
